Which units this covers, and how to tell yours is one of them

Every answer below is scoped to these model identifiers. A neighbouring model in the same line can use a different part, a different reset sequence or a different radio, so matching the identifier before following a procedure is the step that decides whether the rest of the page applies to you.

What is true of this model and changes how you fix it

These are the properties that decide which procedure applies. Each is read from the manufacturer’s own published figures for this model, not carried over from a sibling that shares its retail name.

Type — ANC Bluetooth earbuds (battery)
Bose's flagship earbuds with top ANC and Immersive Audio, in a charging case. Battery/ANC/Bluetooth and earbud-specific symptoms (fit, ear tips, case contacts) apply.
Fit is critical
Bose uses fit bands plus ear tips; ANC and bass depend on a proper seal. A CustomTune calibration runs at each insertion. Thin sound or weak ANC is usually the wrong tip/band size — try the other sizes.
Case & battery
The buds charge in the case; if a bud starts a session low, its case contacts may be dirty. Immersive Audio shortens runtime when on.
Power path
Internal or removable battery. Every capability that costs current — night vision, higher stream quality, longer recordings, frequent events — is paid for in runtime, so a change in behaviour after a settings change is usually a power consequence rather than a fault. Cold weather reduces usable capacity sharply.

Questions that only have an answer for the Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds

Each answer below uses this model’s own published figures. The same question asked about a different model in the line has a different answer, which is why it is answered here rather than on a general page.

My Bose QC Ultra Earbuds have weak bass or the noise cancelling seems poor.+

Almost always the seal. ANC and bass depend on the ear tips and stability bands fitting your ears well — try the other supplied tip and band sizes until you get a snug seal, and let the CustomTune calibration run (the tone you hear when you insert them). A poor seal lets noise in and bass out. Clean the nozzles of wax too, since a blocked mesh muffles sound. Immersive Audio also uses more battery when enabled.

Structured depth, not empty permutations

Every published record carries a direct answer, scope, ordered fixes, risk notes and sources.
