What is true of this model and changes how you fix it
These are the properties that decide which procedure applies. Each is read from the manufacturer’s own published figures for this model, not carried over from a sibling that shares its retail name.
- Type — flagship Dolby Atmos soundbar (WiFi + eARC)
- Sonos's top soundbar with Dolby Atmos and Sound Motion bass tech. It connects to the TV by HDMI eARC (not optical) and to your network by WiFi. So 'no TV sound' is the eARC/HDMI-CEC link, while streaming/grouping issues are WiFi/app.
- WiFi-first — most issues are network/app
- Like all Sonos, it is controlled through the Sonos app over your WiFi. A speaker that 'disappears' from the app is almost always a network issue (band-steering, a changed router, or 2.4/5 GHz problems), not a hardware fault — before resetting, check the network.
- Atmos needs the whole chain
- Dolby Atmos requires the TV's eARC port and an Atmos source; if Atmos is missing, confirm the TV is passing it and the app shows Atmos. Add Sonos surrounds/sub over WiFi for full surround.

Questions that only have an answer for the Sonos Arc Ultra soundbar
Each answer below uses this model’s own published figures. The same question asked about a different model in the line has a different answer, which is why it is answered here rather than on a general page.
My Sonos Arc Ultra has no sound from the TV.+
Connect it to the TV's HDMI eARC (or ARC) port specifically, and enable HDMI-CEC on the TV (each brand names it differently — Anynet+, SIMPLINK, Bravia Sync), plus set the TV audio output to the external/ARC system. Power-cycle the TV and soundbar to renegotiate the HDMI handshake. If the TV has no HDMI ARC/eARC, an optical adapter is needed. Streaming still works over WiFi even when the TV link has a problem.
