What is true of this model and changes how you fix it
These are the properties that decide which procedure applies. Each is read from the manufacturer’s own published figures for this model, not carried over from a sibling that shares its retail name.
- Tier — value GAMING (Windows 11)
- Acer's value gaming laptop — a discrete NVIDIA GPU and a fast display at a lower price. Integrated + discrete graphics; gaming needs the discrete GPU and mains power. Often upgradeable RAM/SSD.
- Dual GPU + power
- Force games to the NVIDIA GPU and plug in for full speed; use a Performance mode in NitroSense. Keep the NVIDIA driver current.
- Loud fans normal
- Fans run loud under gaming load — not a fault; keep vents clear.
- Power path
- Internal or removable battery. Every capability that costs current — night vision, higher stream quality, longer recordings, frequent events — is paid for in runtime, so a change in behaviour after a settings change is usually a power consequence rather than a fault. Cold weather reduces usable capacity sharply.

Questions that only have an answer for the Acer Nitro V 15
Each answer below uses this model’s own published figures. The same question asked about a different model in the line has a different answer, which is why it is answered here rather than on a general page.
My Acer Nitro V 15 runs games slowly.+
Plug in the charger (gaming laptops throttle hard on battery), make sure games use the discrete NVIDIA GPU rather than the integrated graphics (force it in Windows Graphics settings and the NVIDIA Control Panel), and set a Performance mode in NitroSense. Update the NVIDIA driver. If it is still short, the Nitro is a value machine, so the newest demanding titles may need lower settings — but plugged in on the dGPU in performance mode is where its full capability is.
