Every answer below is scoped to these model identifiers. A neighbouring model in the same line can use a different part, a different reset sequence or a different radio, so matching the identifier before following a procedure is the step that decides whether the rest of the page applies to you.

What is true of this model and changes how you fix it

These are the properties that decide which procedure applies. Each is read from the manufacturer’s own published figures for this model, not carried over from a sibling that shares its retail name.

Device — outdoor camera with spotlights
An outdoor security camera with built-in LED spotlights and a siren. It comes in power variants (battery, plug-in, solar, wired) — check which you have, as 'won't charge' only applies to the battery/solar version, while a plug-in/wired version has no battery to charge.
3D Motion + Bird's Eye View
It uses radar-assisted 3D Motion Detection (range-based) plus Bird's Eye View — so its motion zones and behaviour differ from simple pixel-change cameras; tune the 3D motion range if it over- or under-triggers.
Dual-band Wi-Fi + Ring Protect
Supports 2.4 and 5 GHz Wi-Fi. Recorded video history needs a Ring Protect subscription; live view and alerts are free.
Power path
Internal or removable battery. Every capability that costs current — night vision, higher stream quality, longer recordings, frequent events — is paid for in runtime, so a change in behaviour after a settings change is usually a power consequence rather than a fault. Cold weather reduces usable capacity sharply.
Wi-Fi
Joins on 2.4 GHz. A phone on 5 GHz cannot hand credentials to it reliably during setup, and a router that steers clients between bands under one network name will produce intermittent joins that look like a hardware fault.
Siting
Rated for outdoor installation. Water ingress at the cable entry, corrosion at the contacts and temperature at the extremes of the rated range all present first as intermittent electrical faults, not as visible damage.
Service tier
Some capabilities are subscription-gated. A feature that stops working on a date with no other change is worth checking against the plan's renewal before it is treated as a fault.

Questions that only have an answer for the Ring Spotlight Cam Pro

Each answer below uses this model’s own published figures. The same question asked about a different model in the line has a different answer, which is why it is answered here rather than on a general page.

My Ring Spotlight Cam Pro battery keeps dying (or won't charge).+

First confirm which power version you have — if it is the plug-in or hardwired Spotlight Cam Pro, there is no battery to charge, so a power problem is the outlet/wiring. On the battery/solar version, frequent recharging is usually caused by high activity (lots of motion events, live views and the spotlights/siren firing) draining the removable battery pack, and cold weather. Reduce motion sensitivity/zones, and for continuous power use the solar panel or the plug-in adapter. The battery pack is removable to charge or replace.
