My Samsung S95D looks a bit greyish or washed out in a bright room.+

That is the matte 'OLED Glare Free' anti-reflection coating, unique to the S95D, not a fault. Instead of a glossy screen that mirrors bright lights, the matte finish scatters them — which kills distracting reflections but can lift apparent black level and give reflections a soft haze in a very bright room. It is a deliberate trade-off. In a controlled-light room the perfect QD-OLED blacks return.
