Yes — the BRAVIA 5 upgrades from the X90L's basic full-array backlight to Mini-LED with far more dimming zones (around 384 on the 65-inch), so it controls blooming and dark-scene contrast much better. It is still an LCD with a backlight, so some halo around bright objects on black remains normal, just far less than the X90L.
