What is true of this model and changes how you fix it
These are the properties that decide which procedure applies. Each is read from the manufacturer’s own published figures for this model, not carried over from a sibling that shares its retail name.
- Model — Charge 5 (advanced tracker)
- A slim fitness band with built-in GPS, ECG, EDA stress sensing and continuous heart rate — but no physical button (touch-only, unlike the Charge 6), no Google apps, no microphone/speaker, no cellular.
- No cellular / no on-band calls
- Shows phone notifications; no speaker/mic or cellular, so those symptoms do not apply.
- Touch controls
- Its touch-only interface (no side button) can feel unresponsive with wet or gloved fingers or a screen film — that is the touch design, not necessarily a fault.

Questions that only have an answer for the Fitbit Charge 5
Each answer below uses this model’s own published figures. The same question asked about a different model in the line has a different answer, which is why it is answered here rather than on a general page.
My Fitbit Charge 5 screen is hard to wake or control.+
The Charge 5 is touch-and-tap only with no physical button, so it can feel unresponsive if your fingers are wet or the screen is dirty, or if the raise-to-wake sensitivity is low. Clean and dry the screen, adjust screen-wake settings in the app, and use a firm double-tap. The Charge 6 added back a physical side button partly to address this. Wet or gloved use is the common cause of poor touch response, not a fault.
Structured depth, not empty permutations
Every published record carries a direct answer, scope, ordered fixes, risk notes and sources.
Device and manufacturer hubs share a consistent record system, but each answer carries the relevant controls, fault boundaries, consequences and official support entry point for that platform.
