These are the properties that decide which procedure applies. Each is read from the manufacturer’s own published figures for this model, not carried over from a sibling that shares its retail name.
- Model — PS5 Slim Digital (CFI-2000)
- The 2023 Digital Edition — no disc drive, download-only, around 1TB SSD. Disc symptoms do not apply unless you add the drive.

- Unlike the original launch Digital Edition, the Slim Digital CAN accept the same detachable Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive sold separately — so if you want discs, this model supports adding the drive later.
- Storage & network
- ~1TB internal SSD plus an M.2 NVMe expansion slot; Wi-Fi 6 and Gigabit Ethernet — wired is most reliable for downloads and online play.

Questions that only have an answer for the PlayStation 5 Digital Edition slim
Each answer below uses this model’s own published figures. The same question asked about a different model in the line has a different answer, which is why it is answered here rather than on a general page.
Can I add a disc drive to my PS5 Slim Digital Edition?+
Yes — the Slim Digital Edition accepts the detachable Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive that Sony sells separately; clip it on and the console reads discs. This is a difference from the original launch Digital Edition, which cannot take the drive. Out of the box the Slim Digital is download-only, so disc troubleshooting only applies once you have added the drive.
